Former Olympic swimming coach George Gibney has consented to be extradited from the US to Ireland.
US Marshals arrested Mr Gibney, 77, in Florida earlier this month.
The Irish Times has reported that Mr Gibney withdrew a request to fight his detention, which was due to be heard in court on Friday.
He is accused of 78 charges of indecent assault and one of attempted rape. The alleged victims were aged between eight and 14 or 15 years at the time of the alleged offences.
His arrest came after the 2020 BBC/Second Captains podcast  highlighted allegations of abuse against Mr Gibney and prompted new complainants to come forward.
Mr Gibney was the founder of the Trojan Swimming Club in Blackrock in Dublin, where he also worked as a swimming coach.
He also worked as a swimming coach with the Irish national team until 1991.
