Five people, including four teenagers, have been hospitalised following a two-car collision in Co Galway.Â
Gardaà are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on the Tubberjarlath Road (R332) in Tuam at approximately 1.40am on Monday.
The driver of one of the vehicles involved, a man in his 30s, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was subsequently taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment.Â
The other driver, an adult male in his late teens, along with three adult female passengers, all aged in their late teens, were brought to University Hospital Galway to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The road where the accident occurred remains closed pending an examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are also in place.
Investigating gardaà have issued an appeal for witnesses.
Any road users with camera footage who were travelling in the area between 1.15am and 1.50am on Monday have been requested to make this footage available.
