Woman dies after bicycle hit by tractor in Co Clare

A cyclist has died following a collision with a tractor in Co Clare.

The incident occurred at Toonagh, Tulla this Saturday afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following report of the collision, involving a tractor and a bicycle, which occurred on the L3180 at approximately 12.45pm.

The cyclist, a woman aged in her 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A spokesperson for the garda said: "Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

"There were no other injuries reported at the time."

The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12noon-1pm today, Saturday 24th May 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
