Pedestrian dies after being hit by truck in Roscommon

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck in Co Roscommon on Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened at the junction of the N5 and R361 at approximately 4.45pm.
The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has since been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where an autopsy will take place in due course. There were no other injuries reported.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
