Wine producers reveal 2024 was worst year for sales and output in over 60 years

The International Vine and Wine Organisation (OIV) said 2024 sales fell 3.3% from the previous year its lowest level since 1961. 

He may be teetotal but the threat of US president Donald Trump's tariffs are sobering news for the world's wine industry that has just experienced its worst year for sales and production for more than 60 years.

The International Vine and Wine Organisation (OIV) said 2024 sales fell 3.3% from the previous year to 214.2m hectolitres. That is the lowest level since 1961.
