Gardaí investigate farm fire in Donegal that killed 40 calves

Gardaí are investigating a fire on a farm in Co Donegal that killed around 40 calves. 

The fire occurred on a farm in the Lettergull area on Thursday night. 

No one was hurt during the fire, gadaí confirmed. 

A garda spokesperson said they are "examining all of the circumstances surrounding the fire". 

"At around 10.45pm, Gardaí received a report of a fire in a large shed and attended the scene with the Fire Brigade," gardaí said.

"No injuries were reported. The scene has been preserved and a technical examination will follow."

It is not yet known how the fire began. 

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí added.
