Eight people taken to hospital after fire in Wicklow

Eight people have been taken to hospital after a fire in Bray, Co Wicklow.

Gardaí and fire crews attended the scene of a fire at a residential premises on the Lower Dargle Road in Bray, Co Wicklow on Monday morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire at approximately 5am.

"No serious injuries have been reported however eight residents of the building were conveyed to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation," confirmed a Garda spokesperson.

The fire has since been extinguished and the scene is being preserved for technical examination.

Enquiries are ongoing, gardaí said.
