Storm Éowyn: Hospitals seeing 'social admissions' due to lack of power and water at home, HSE says

The HSE confirmed some hospital patients were not discharged home 'due to the storm', even though treatment was finished.

Hospitals in areas hit by Storm Éowyn are now admitting patients who would normally not need help but have been left vulnerable by the lack of power or water, the HSE said.

One young boy living with intellectual disabilities was admitted with sepsis and kidney issues linked to water shortages, his mother told the Irish Examiner.
