More than 160 motorists have been arrested for drink or drug driving since the Garda bank holiday road safety campaign got under way last Thursday morning.

Up to 10am on Monday morning, 163 detections had been made for driving while intoxicated, while more than 1,000 drivers were detected for speeding offences during the first four days of the operation.
