Man, 60s, dies following incident in West Cork

A man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene of an incident in West Cork.

The incident occurred at Gortnamuckla, outside Dunmanway town at approximately 6.35pm.

"His body has been removed to University Hospital Cork.

A file will be prepared for the coroner," confirmed a Garda spokesperson.

Gardaí and the national ambulance service attended the scene.

The road at Tigh an Droichead, Gortnamucklagh will remain closed overnight.

Enquiries are ongoing.
