Pedestrian, 40s, dies following collision with car in Cavan

A pedestrian in his 40s has died following a collision on the N54 in Cavan on Saturday night.
The incident, involving a car and a pedestrian, occurred at approximately 10.45pm, at Plush, Cloverhill, Co Cavan.
The man died at the scene. His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Cavan General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s, was uninjured.
The road remained closed on Sunday morning pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions were in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between 10:30pm and 11:00pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
