Seven flu deaths in early January as hospitals remain under 'severe pressure'

Seven people died from the flu in the first week of January and two died from the RSV respiratory virus over the holiday period, new figures show.

The figures were released as the HSE warned that hospitals in Cork and Kerry remain “under severe pressure”.
