Safe access zones around abortion services come into effect

“Safe access zones” which criminalise people who impede access to abortion services come into effect on Thursday.

Such zones are in operation within 100 metres of the entrances and exits of premises where a GP, obstetrician or gynaecologist provide termination of pregnancy services.
