Lives of 25 million people in Sudan 'hanging in balance', committee to hear

In Sudan, more than 12 million people have fled their homes, nine million children are food insecure, 3.4 million children are at high risk of epidemic diseases and more than 700,000 children under the age of five risk dying from starvation.

The enormity of the ongoing crisis in Sudan is hard to comprehend with the lives of 25 million people left hanging in the balance, the Oireachtas committee on foreign affairs will hear on Tuesday.
