229 drivers caught speeding by gardaí during National Slow Down Day

The National Slow Down Day campaign came into effect at 7am on Monday morning and will remain in place until 7am on Tuesday.

A motorist was clocked going 30km/h over the speed limit in Cork city by gardaí during the first two hours of National Slow Down Day. 

The 24-hour operation to clamp down on speeding motorists across national roads will remain in place until 7am on Tuesday.
