A motorcyclist in his 30s has been killed in a single-vehicle crash in Longford early this morning.

The crash happened around 1:15am at Kilnashee in Drumlish.

The R198 road between Longford and Drumlish remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene.

Traffic diversions are in place.

This incident brings the number of road fatalities in Ireland this year to 118.

Gardaí are urging witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
