The number of homeless people in Ireland exceeds the capacity of Hill 16 in Croke Park this All-Ireland final weekend, charities have said, after a record number of people living in emergency accommodation was recorded yet again.
According to new Department of Housing figures, 14,303 people were homeless in this country at the end of June. This included 2,093 families and 4,404 children, a 17% increase on the same time last year.
