Aer Lingus has announced a further 25 flight cancellations for next week and expects to cancel more on Thursday morning, as the industrial action from pilots continues.
In a statement on Wednesday, the airline said: “Aer Lingus is cancelling 25 flights for Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th July, and we expect to announce further cancellations in the morning.
“Flights being cancelled on 15th and 16th July will be implemented later this afternoon, and details of the impacted flights will be communicated to impacted customers. Details of the services impacted will also be set out on the ‘Travel Advisory’ page of aerlingus.com later this afternoon.”
The Irish Air Line Pilots Association (IALPA) today received a response from the Labour Court after it sought clarity on aspects of its recommendations aimed at ending the long-running dispute.
The Labour Court has recommended a 17.75% increase for pilots over a number of years. IALPA had been seeking 24% while Aer Lingus has said it would offer over 12% but seeking productivity improvements also.
It is expected IALPA’s executive will consider the proposals before making a recommendation to members, after which pilots will ballot on whether they accept the deal.
