Gardaí investigating suspicious device found in north Dublin

Emergency services were alerted when a suspicious device was found today.

Gardai are investigating after a suspicious device was located in north inner city Dublin.

There are traffic delays near Fairview Strand as the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit are currently attending the scene.

Emergency services were alerted after a suspicious device was discovered.

In a statement, gardaí told the Irish Examiner “Gardaí are currently in attendance at a scene in the Fairview Strand area of Dublin 3 today, Thursday, 6th of June 2024 following reports of a suspicious device.

“A cordon has been put in place and the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit are in attendance.

“Road closures have been put in place between Fairview Strand and Richmond Road, as well as between Fairview Strand and Phillipsburgh Avenue.

“No further information is available at this time.”
