Ukrainian refugees to have welfare allowances cut under new plan

A series of other measures on immigration are also due to be approved, including a review of payments provided to international protection applicants

The Government is to sign off on plans to cut payment rates for all Ukrainian refugees living in State accommodation.

Coalition leaders last night agreed to proposals that would see Ukrainian refugees in State accommodation, regardless of when they arrived here, have their welfare payments cut to €38.80 for adults, and €29.80 for children.
