60,000 children to get additional child benefit payments as age limit extended

The new payment will cover 18-year-olds up until their 19th birthday, provided they are still in full-time education.

Some 60,000 extra children will receive additional Child Benefit payments, following changes to include 18-year-olds in full-time education and those who have a disability.

The changes come into effect from today.
