Paperwork has turned job into 'statistical monster', garda middle rank claims

An Garda Síochána has turned into “a statistical monster” with minor incidents like theft of a Lucozade bottle generating up to 40 ‘unnecessary jobs’ for the force, garda sergeants and inspectors have warned.

Deputy General Secretary with the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors (AGSI) Ronan Clogher said there have been major problems with the new garda Investigation Management System (IMS), an electronic system that aims to standardise and digitise investigation management.
