Irish households to see energy bills fall as price cuts take effect from Friday

According to the Central Statistics Office, wholesale electricity prices dropped by 38.4% in the 12 months to January 2024.

More than one million households are set to benefit from reduced energy bills from Friday, as price cuts from the main suppliers kick in.

Furthermore, analysts predict further price reductions may be forthcoming later in the year as hard-pressed families finally get some relief after several years of price surges in the cost of lighting and heating their homes.
