Gardaí catch motorist without insurance doing 167km/h in 80km/h zone

A motorist has been clocked driving at 167km/h in an 80km/h zone, as more than 400 drivers have been caught speeding during National Slow Down Day today.

The garda operation aimed at tackling speeding began early on Thursday morning with drivers being urged to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of speed-related collisions.
