Rugby fans lead the pack for keeping their sport free to air 

Almost one in four respondents (24%) said either Six Nations games or rugby’s European Cup must be shown live.

Irish rugby fans have lined out for their sport en masse, leading the calls for its key sporting events to be kept free to air on television.

In response to a public consultation on which sporting events should be designated as having to be shown free-to-air, almost one in four respondents (24%) said either Six Nations games or rugby’s European Cup must be shown live.
