Government defeats votes on calls to support South Africa case

The Government has defeated motions in parliament that called on it to apply sanctions to Israel and support South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

The Government faced further pressure to join the genocide case against Israel, as opposition parties criticised its decision to await the preliminary findings from the ICJ.
