Sunscreen dispensers to be placed across country in skin cancer awareness campaign

The National Cancer Care Programme said that the scheme is aimed at encouraging people, particularly those working outdoors or spending long periods outside recreationally, to use sunscreen more frequently.

Just under 250 public sunscreen dispensers are to be put in place around Ireland this summer as part of the HSE’s latest sun awareness campaign following a successful pilot programme in 2023.

An additional 200 dispensers will be distributed to interested parties for summer 2024, the National Cancer Care Programme said, in addition to the 48 put in place during the pilot session last year.
