Gardaí are concerned for the welfare of a man driving a black Hyundai and are appealing for information on the car's whereabouts.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the black Hyundai IX35, with a registration number of EX15PVF, is asked to contact gardaí.

In a statement, they are appealing to the driver to make contact with his family or gardaí at any Garda station.

Gardaí said they had "concerns for the health and welfare of the male driver of the vehicle".

Members of the public have been told not to approach the vehicle.

People are being asked to report any information or sighting of the car by calling 999/112, any Garda station or the Garda Confidential Phone Line 1800 666 111.
