Pedestrian, 57, dies after road collision in Co Antrim

A pedestrian has died after a road collision in Co Antrim.

Alan Doherty, 57, was struck by car on the Bridge Road in Dunloy in the early hours of Wednesday.

The incident happened shortly before 2.30am.

Mr Doherty, who was from the Dunloy area, died at the scene of the collision.

The Bridge Road was closed overnight but reopened later on Wednesday.

The PSNI said officers from the collision investigation unit were working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

They have asked anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened, or who may have captured mobile phone or dash-cam footage, to contact them.
