Dublin stabbings: Fundraisers for Deliveroo rider and creche worker raise over €600k

Caio Benicio, a Deliveroo driver, at the scene in Dublin city centre after he witnessed the incident on Parnell Square East.
Two separate fundraisers, for the carer and the Deliveroo rider who were involved in stopping the stabbing of children in Dublin, have raised more than €600,000 between them.
The money, raised in the wake of the horrifying incident on Parnell Square last Thursday, will go directly to Caio Benicio and Leanne Flynn.
Mr Benicio was driving past the scene when he saw the attack happen.
He got off his bike, took off his motorcycle helmet, and used it to hit the man who had the knife in his hands.
A GoFundMe entitled 'Buy Caio Benicio a pint' had reached €360,033 as of Monday morning.
In response, Mr Benicio said: "I didn't have the opportunity to thank you for creating the Gofundme. I really appreciate that
"I am deeply from my heart grateful to you and all the people who contributed with the Gofundme.
"Wish you all the best, my friend."
A separate GoFundMe to help Ms Flynn and the children involved in the incident had raised €245,772 as of Monday morning.
Ms Flynn used her body as a human shield to protect the three small children who were attacked.
In response, organisers of the fundraiser wrote: "We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the support and kindness we have received thus far, so thank you all so much for your donations.
"We have increased the goal so that we can continue to raise as much as possible for those affected by this horrific incident.
"Rest assured we will keep the fundraiser updated and will share exactly where the funds are going. Please continue to support in any way you can, and thank you all again you are helping more than you can ever imagine… Thank you so much."
A five-year-old child injured in the assault remains in critical condition at CHI Temple Street after being stabbed randomly by a man in his 40s.
Two other children involved in the stabbing have since been discharged from hospital.
