'I was left wishing for a worse diagnosis so we could be looked after at home': Concerns about abortion services

Women who have to go abroad for an abortion for medical reasons feel a similar sense of abandonment as those who went before legislation was changed, a conference on Irish services heard on Friday.

Terminations when fatal fetal anomalies are identified are now allowed under certain criteria. However, researcher Suzie Heaney said a condition may be assessed as ‘not fatal enough’ to be eligible.
