'Legal obligations' stopping RTÉ from giving TDs contract details of former executives, says Bakhurst

Kevin Bakhurst confirmed that “there was no exit payment made to Dee Forbes on her resignation or to Geraldine O'Leary who left seven weeks early to take retirement.” File picture

RTÉ’s Director General has defended the station’s decision not to give TDs the contractual details of three former executives, including Dee Forbes.

The statement by Kevin Bakhurst comes after the broadcaster declined a request from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to supply it with a copy of former director general Dee Forbes' contract, as well as supply information on the financial exit packages given to former commercial director Geraldine O'Leary and former chief financial officer Breda O’Keeffe.
