Public meeting highlights problem of toxic algae in Lough Neagh

A public meeting to express concern around a huge bloom of toxic blue-green algae in Lough Neagh has heard that the situation should be categorised as an emergency.

Those in attendance packed an auditorium at the Seamus Heaney HomePlace centre in Bellaghy, Derry close to the northern shores of the lough.
