Problem gambling initiatives that raise awareness of “industry manipulation” rather than being framed on individual responsibility may be more effective at tackling harm, a new study has claimed.

Research from a team at London South Bank University and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority looked at the impact of a campaign called “Odds Are: They Win” and found that it was a “potentially disruptive innovation” that would have a greater impact than “safer gambling campaigns” often put forth by the gambling industry.
