Six-month requirement for mother-and-baby home redress ‘a sword of Damocles’

The requirement for survivors of mother and baby homes to have spent at least six months in an institution to be eligible for redress has been labelled a “sword of Damocles”.

The Government’s Mother and Baby Institutions Payment Scheme Bill is continuing through the Dáil, and entered committee stage on Tuesday.
