Facebook and Twitter try to support politicians abused on their platforms 

Facebook promised to deliver briefings to politicians focused on 'safety and security' for their use of both Facebook and Instagram.

Facebook and Twitter are offering special support services for TDs and senators who feel they are the subject of abuse online.

The two social media giants have promised enhanced facilities for reporting harassment and other harmful content. A number of politicians have been a victim of concerted abuse on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter in recent years.
