Rise in homelessness 'a shocking indictment of failed housing policy'

Homelessness has surged back to pre-pandemic levels with 9,825 people requiring emergency accommodation in March, almost a third of whom were children.

The number of people without a home rose by 3.5% in March, prompting calls for the pandemic-era eviction ban to be reintroduced.
