Two Ryanair aircraft with almost 400 passengers and crew on board narrowly avoided a collision on a runway at Malaga airport in Spain two years ago in what aviation investigators classified as a “serious incident”.
An official investigation by the Spanish civil aviation authority has revealed that an air traffic controller at Malaga allowed a Ryanair flight to land at the same time as the other Ryanair aircraft was given permission to enter the same runway and take off.
