Varadkar: 'I don't want a country where politicians live in a security bubble'

Tánaiste and Enterprise Minister Leo Varadkar visiting GMIT Galway today to formally open the new extension to GMIT’s Enterprise Ireland-funded innovation hub and medical imaging suite.

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said he does not want to give any oxygen to the people who protested outside his home and said it is important to get the balance right if introducing legislation banning such demonstrations.

Mr Varadkar said it is important that people have the right to protest in a democracy and that the access to politicians which exists in Ireland is maintained.
