A further 1,189 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed as the head of the HSE said that the threat of the Delta variant is one “big hurdle” the country has to overcome in its battle against Covid-19.

The National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) confirmed that 95 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 23 are in ICU.
