Girl rescued from water at Lahinch

A teenage girl has been rescued after getting into difficulty in the water at Lahinch beach.

The girl was rescued by lifeguards on the Co Clare beach, with Shannon-based rescue helicopter 115 and Doolin Coast Guard also on the scene.

The incident unfolded around 3.45pm on Sunday but the Irish Coast Guard said the girl has since regained consciousness and is being assessed by the paramedic winch crew.
