Spread of Delta variant likely to ‘outmatch’ supply of vaccines, HSE boss warns

The spread of the Delta variant is likely to “outmatch” the supply of vaccines over the coming weeks, HSE boss Paul Reid has said.

Vaccine supplies are set to dip in July, in tandem with a rise in cases of the Delta variant, which are set to peak in August when they will account for 90% of Covid-19 cases.
