Glass in soup and live insects in rice among issues reported to food safety watchdog

Finding glass in soup, live insects crawling in rice, and sewage smells in premises were just some of the stomach-churning complaints made by consumers to food authorities in 2020.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic saw a decline in the number of cases reported to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland’s (FSAI) Advice Line in 2020 compared to the previous year, some of the cases highlighted were no less disgusting.
