Protests in France over planned law on police officer images

Thousands of people have taken to the streets in Paris and other French cities to protest against a proposed security law which civil liberties campaigners and journalists say would impinge on freedom of information and media rights.

The pending legislation in France’s parliament would create a new criminal offence for publishing images of police officers with intent to cause them harm.
