Woman charged in connection with assault on hospital worker

A woman has been arrested and charged after an assault on a hospital worker in Sligo.

Gardaí arrested the 24-year-old woman following the assault at a Sligo hospital at around 7.30am this morning.

Gardaí said: "During the altercation, the woman assaulted a hospital worker." They added that the worker was not seriously hurt.

She was later taken to Ballymote Garda station.

The woman is due to appear before a special sitting of Sligo District Court this evening.
