Senior male Garda suspended from duty

A senior Garda has been suspended from the force today.

An Garda Siochana confirmed that an officer was suspended but would not provide any further details.

It is understood that it relates to allegations of harassment and bullying that have been made against him.

The male officer had been under investigation after complaints were filed by another serving Garda.

The Garda Ombudsman said it does not comment on individual investigations.
