Motorist who deliberately drove straight at cyclist ordered to pay him €10,000

A motorist who deliberately drove straight at a cyclist on a Dublin road has been given a three-year suspended sentence and ordered to pay his victim €10,000.

CCTV footage played in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court showed Sean Kearns driving straight at cyclist Marcelo Valencia, causing him to come crashing off his bicycle on the middle of a busy road five years ago.
