Court hears driver assaulted cyclist who held up middle finger to him

A motorist admitted assaulting a cyclist by pulling off his backpack but the driver said he was responding to the cyclist holding up the middle finger to him.

Judge Con O’Leary said: “We all have people treating us rudely on the roads but we don’t go and pull them off their bikes.”
