Council to erect warning signs after swan kills dog in Dublin park

Dublin City Council says it is going to put up warning signs after a swan in Bushy Park killed a dog on Saturday.

A breeding pair of swans are nesting near the water there, along with two cygnets.

The bird charged at the cocker spaniel after it went into the pond, and killed the dog by striking it with its wings.

The council says the wild bird was protecting its young.
