Jack and Emily are still the most popular names for newborn babies in Ireland.

Jack and Emily have retained their top spot as the nation's favourite baby names.

According to the Central Statistics Office (CSO), Jack was the most a popular name for newborn baby boys last year - a position it has held since 2007, apart from 2016, when James briefly tipped it for the top spot.
